Quote of the Day – Thought Crimes Edition
Once the government starts creating hate crimes, they aren’t too far away from creating thought crimes. In fact, hate crimes are thought crimes, so strike that. – Sebastian

I’ve always wondered what makes a hate crime? I mean if you kill someone or attack them or even threaten them, it seems to say to me that you don’t like them. But if you stomp someone and while you stomp them you use racial epithets or demean their ancestry, that makes it worse? Look, murder is murder, assault is assault, and the fact that you may hate this person cuz he’s black or gay or whatever is irrelevant. What? you killed him because you loved him so much?? I fail to see why tacking on extra prison time for that makes any sense at all. Do they make people convicted of hate crimes go to “warm and fuzzy” class while they serve their time? No this is just another feel good law. It makes politicians sound like they are doing something and seem tough on crime. You want to be tough on crime, keep the criminals locked up.
