Rasmussen: 75% Believe in a Constitutional Right to Own Guns
Seventy-five percent (75%) of Americans believe the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right of an average citizen to own a gun, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
Just 14% say gun ownership is not a constitutional right. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure.
Not to surprising that the numbers are higher in Republicans that Democrats, or gun owners vs. non gun owners. They point out that “Despite the oft-cited concern about the danger of loaded weapons to children in the home,” households with children are more likely to support the right. I don’t find that too surprising, due to the natural inclination to protect children, often by owning a gun.
