I must be his worst nightmare
Via Bitter:
Apparently Mark Warner, the former Virginia governor, told a Democratic group that the NRA, home schoolers, Christians, and pro-life folks are a threat to “what it means to be an American.” Of course, when he wanted to be governor of a red state, he denied making the comments and said it was all lies.
Let’s see… I am Christian, Pro-life, an NRA member, and was home schooled for years.
I must be one the the greatedt threats the American way of life has ever know…
And here I though freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, the right to raise our children as we see fit, and the right to life (which the founders recognized as self evident,) were what made this the greatest country in the world.
Silly me.
Yeah, when the partial rollback of handgun rationing went throught the General Assembly, GOP squish Senator Bill Mims pulled Warner’s wheaties out of the fire by having the bill amended to remove allowing multiple privates sales to CHP holders. The final bill only allowed multiple handgun sales in 30 days to CHP holders through FFLs. Even the Brady Bunch did not scream because the bill while allowing CHP holders to buy more than one handgun a month, sets up a defacto permit process via CHPs.
Word is Warner, in addition to signing every pro-gun bill that hit his desk, answered the NRA questionaire to their liking which always contains a question about renewal of the Clinton Gun Ban and also likely included a question related to types of Supreme Court nominees he would support or oppose. Does anyone really think that if Obama is elected that Warner would oppose a Ginsburg or Breyer type of nominee?
