FOXNews reports that Phillip Miles had his sentence reduced on appeal, and a judge ordered him released. This is the man that got sentenced to three years in prison for smuggling ammo after he brought a box of ammo to a friend for his rifle. While this was poor judgement, three years seems quite harsh considering the circumstances. Fortunately a judge agreed.

Let this serve as a warning to anyone who thinks about traveling internationally with guns or ammo. You have to be aware of the laws of the country you are traveling to, and should be aware of the laws of countries you are traveling through, as well. If you think U.S. laws are a minefield, international laws can be much worse.
