I miss “Wild Bill,” too, the Chief. He was a good guy, a great cop, and if you weren’t a jerk, he wasn’t, either. BTW, he also believed in gun rights and was one of the few Jersey cops who issued handgun permits, a rarity in New Jersey, without putting you through the “third-degree” during your application process. He would say, “Just write on the application that you believe in the right to bear arms.” In New Jersey, that is a rare attitude for a cop. – Jeff Soyer
