Obama “had no contact with” Blagojevich
He did add about Blagojevich’s process of considering a successor: “I had no contact with the governor or his office, and so I was not aware of what was happening.”
In Chicago, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said Tuesday that prosecutors were making “no allegations” that Obama was aware of any scheming.
Except, I guess, for that time when he did:
CHICAGO, ILL. — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obama’s first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

Illinois Gov. Blagojevich was arrested because he failed to carry out Dictator Obama’s wishes.

Obama today said “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”
Axelrod said, “I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”
So which are you saying lied?
The FoxNews story quotes Obama as saying “I have not discussed the Senate seat with the governor at any time,” while the other story says Obama was meeting with the governor to discuss the Senate seat. Either one or both of those stories is wrong, or Obama is lying. I don’t have a problem with them meeting, so long as Obama wasn’t involved in the attempt to sell the senate seat. However, Obama owes us an explanation if he is lying about meeting with Blagojevich.
The idea that anyone could rise to federal or ever state office in Illinois and remain untouched by corruption is absurd.
