A Milwaukee mother was charged Monday with pulling a 9mm handgun out of her purse and handing it to her 16-year-old son so he could shoot a carload of teens arguing with him about a previous playground beating.

Wanda Young, 45, was charged with intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a child and party to second-degree endangering safety while armed, felonies that carry a maximum penalty of 13 1/2 years in prison. – JSOnline

And yet we have to listen to the Bradys and VPC say that the handgun is the problem, not a cultural of crime where parents encourage their kids into criminal activity. This isn’t just a story about a youth getting a handgun, but a mother who alegedly gave a weapon to her son so that he could shoot a carload of teens!

The son has 2 prior arrests for burglary.

We need to address the kind of thinking that produces these sorts of incidents, not the tools used.
