Changing views on Iraq
According to Rasmussen, for the first time since they began polling it, a plurality of Americans think that history will judge the war in Iraq a success. Last August, the numbers were starkly differrent: “57% believed history would judge the U.S. mission in Iraq a failure, and only 29% disagreed.”
I think this is good for the McCain campaign, but he needs focus on the differences going forward, not just “Obama opposed the surge”
America is winning both in Iraq, and the larger war on terror. Electing Obama would be a major setback, and we can count on more terrorist attacks if he is elected and follows his policy of withdrawal. And that is one major area where I would fundementally disagree with McCain saying we don’t need to be scared of Obama presidency.
