The Obama World Tour of Insults
In addition to the insult to our wounded troops by skipping a visit because it wasn’t on his terms, The Jerusalem Post reports:
In response, a Ma’ariv spokesman said that “Barack Obama’s note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. In any case, since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an infringement on his right to privacy.”
The prayers offered at the Kotel are a private thing, meant to be between a person and deity. Some prayers are public, the prayers offered there are never meant to be. To make this something given to the press is an insult to Judaism, and Obama should be ashamed. If he wanted to prove his foreign policy credentials, I guess nothing shows foreign policy skills like insulting one of our greatest allies on one of their holiest sites.
