IMHO, this is a strategy fraught with peril – what are they going to do if the Democrats lose seats in 2010? They’re setting themselves up so that they absolutely *have* to gain seats next year – any backsliding at all is going to result in “we won” being tossed right back at them. Of course, that would require some consistency in the media, and there’s a greater likelihood of me sprouting wings and flying to Pluto than that happening. Remind me of the last time you heard 0bama referred to as a chickenhawk, frex… – Jay G
Quote of the Day – Willing Slaves Edition
June 18, 2009I think because they know now and have found the American version of ruling through fear. For us, it isn’t gulags, party membership (although that’s on the radar) or purges but economy, money and jobs. Invoke the spectre of us losing one or all and the slaves fall into willing rows, ready to accept their chains. Especially if accompanied by a “submission tax credit” or “happiness stimulus”. – Armed Canadian
Quote of the Day – Useful for Self Defense Edition
June 17, 2009We’re told that machine guns and assault rifles are not needed for self-defense, but if that’s so why are the police arming themselves with them? Either they are useful for self-defense purposes, in which case my ownership is constitutionally protected, or they aren’t, in which case the police don’t need them either. – Sebastian
Quote of the Day – Diligent Edition
June 16, 2009What’s funny about that is the very reason we’re not having to worry about gun banning efforts is because for a long time we HAVE worried about gun banning efforts. The only reason the Obama administration is so consistently disappointing the Brady Bunch and the VPC is the President’s correct assessment that to do otherwise is political suicide. We’re not losing the RKBA precisely because we’ve been so diligent about watching political developments that threaten it. – Sebastian, PGP

Quote of the Day – Force vs Freedom Edition
June 12, 2009Laws are force. Government enforcing those laws are force. Removing restrictions on people being able to defend themselves is not force. It is freedom. – Joe Huffman
Quote of the Day – Thought Crimes Edition
June 11, 2009Once the government starts creating hate crimes, they aren’t too far away from creating thought crimes. In fact, hate crimes are thought crimes, so strike that. – Sebastian
Quote of the Day – All Around You Edition
June 10, 2009Look, Rodney, this probably comes as a shock, but all those folks around you in the mall and Wally World and the grocery store may already be legally packing heat, they just had to unstrap if they wanted to grab a burger for lunch at Applebee’s instead of Hardee’s. This law just fixes that. Unclench and return to normal breathing, okay? You’re in no more danger of a shootout over the last bit of Bloomin’ Onion at Outback next month than you’ve been over the organic arugula at Kroger’s these last fifteen years or so… – Tam
