Quote of the Day – Registration Edition

April 8, 2009

I’ll register my guns after the courts rule it’s legal to require registration of blacks, Jews, and homosexuals. Oh, and I’m out of ammo. – Joe Huffman

Quote of the Day – Human Rights Edition

April 7, 2009

Joining the Muslim countries [on the U.N. Human Rights Council] are such stalwarts of human rights as China and Cuba. The only reason Mordor didn’t make the list is that J.R.R. Tolkien forgot to have Sauron denounce the “Zionist entity” in “The Lord of the Rings.” – Jonah Goldberg

Quote of the Day – Czar Edition

April 6, 2009

I’m sick of hearing about the car czar, terrorism czar, cybersecurity czar… Do these people even know what a czar is? Do they understand the connotation – or is that the whole point? Are we fully embracing the dictatorial nature of our government these days? And what, they’re supposed to be cute when they rhyme or alliterate? Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Let’s just have an environmental emperor and drug despot next, shall we? And forget the car czar – auto autocrat is much more clever. – Laurel

Quote of the Day – Simple Math Edition

Heavy 5″ steel 1911 + OWB holster + church pew + sitting down too fast = BONK = concealment FAIL. If anyone noticed, they were too polite to say so. – pdb on Facebook

Quote of the Day – Inflation Edition

April 3, 2009

Besides, might as well spend it while the dollar is still worth something, right?  I mean, the way things are going, we’ll all be billionaires in ten years, and grocery prices will be marked in scientific notation. – Marko

Quote of the Day – Cash Cow Edition

April 2, 2009

…if you desperately need someone, don’t treat them like a cash cow to be milked to pay for political goodies given out to buy the votes of the old, ignorant, low-wage earners who make up your political base. It’s not that complicated; it’s just hard for politicians to accept. – Mike

Another range suicide

April 2, 2009

Uncle reported a guy that rented a gun and committed suicide with it, now this:

CALEDONIA — A Park High School teacher committed suicide at Shooters Sports Center Tuesday afternoon by shooting himself with a rented gun, according to Caledonia police.

The 37-year-old Racine man apparently went to Shooters, 4900 6 Mile Road, rented a gun and bought 50 rounds of ammunition to shoot on the range. Just before 3 p.m., other shooters on the firing range noticed him lying on the floor and called 911.

That hits really close. Shooters is the range I normally go to for handguns.

April 1, 2009
