John still loves to tell the world that if deer were attracted to loud sighs, swinging feet from the deer stand, and constant complaining about the cold… I would have a herd of heads on the wall. – Tracy
Audience Participation Time IV
January 26, 2009The ATF Form 1 and Form 4 for manufacture or transfer of an NFA weapon have a section for why you need the firearm.
In the comments, what would you put (or have you put) as a reason to need to own an NFA weapon? Funny, serious, and combination are welcome.
AR Builder
January 26, 2009Sebastian shows a build he worked up.
Here is one of mine
And add $200 for the tax stamp because the barrel (11.5 inches) is below the length blessed by the .gov (16 inches).
Similar to an idea I have been kicking around for a while. The CAR stock is smaller than an M4, which would be good for this type of build, but maybe too much of a good thing. Other changes from the picture: a dual or quad rail gas block, with a pistol light/laser combo mounted underneath, and maybe some sort of BUIS (you know, in case the laser AND the EO Tech decided to head south at the same time).
Try it yourself here.
Quote of the Day – Your Money Edition
January 26, 2009In response to “stop the government from spending my money” Marko has this to say:
Good luck with that quest. They’re not spending your money, they’re spending your children’s and grandchildren’s money. Your money was already spent decades ago, probably around the time LBJ or Nixon were in office. See, the government can borrow cash just by promising that someone else’s kids are going to pay it back out of their paychecks, which doesn’t exactly encourage fiscal responsibility.
Sad but all too true.
Funny, I’ve thought of doing that, too
January 25, 2009I have no problem with moving, it’s just that I can’t move to any state that won’t respect my Second Amendment rights. California, Massachusetts, New York, etc are off the list. In fact, I would probably use the Brady’s grading system to help decide.
Exactly, the more the Bradys, hate a state, the more likely I am to like it.
Quote of the Day – (Not So) Beautiful People Edition
January 23, 2009“America, I know you want to hang out with the beautiful people, but Ashton and Demi made their pledge, dusted off their hands and went on to other acting projects leaving you with the tab. Bruce sings a wonderful song about how tough the blue collar life is, but he doesn’t actually have to live it. And guess what? Bill and Hillary are only faking it when they say they feel your pain. America, you’re a little overweight, your hairline is receding, and and you sag a little bit – the pretty people want your stuff and your adoration, but please, use the servants entrance when you deliver it.” – Mike-istan
Quote of the Day – Change Edition
January 22, 2009That’s the kind of change they like on the Hill – the kind that rattles in their pockets! – Bitter
A good point
January 22, 2009From JJ in the comments:
why is it you can not find which party the offender belongs to when a democrat is involved
It’s funny, because a couple months back I saw a story about the trouble that the son of some politician or another, and I automatically assumed (correctly) that since the party wasn’t mentioned in the beginning of the story that the guy was a Democrat. What’s worse is that this was on the allegedly Republican shill Fox News. Although maybe they are Republican shills, because somewhere in the story it did mention the party.
