Do you mean to tell me that none of the 70 co-sponsors of this bill, or their staff that handled it, creating the “Department of Peace and Nonviolence” ever read Nineteen Eighty-Four
Admittedly, it is the Department of Peace (and nonviolence,) but I can’t be the only one that had “War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength” and the Ministries of Peace, Truth, and Love come immediately to mind.
