Hot Air is reporting that Mike Huckabee, in a moment of monumental stupidity, joked to the audience of the NRA convention about someone trying to shoot Obama. Beyond the stupidity of making the joke anywhere, to make it at a meeting of an organization that has worked tirelessly to promote responsible gun ownership is the hight of stupidity and bad taste. While the left will almost certainly try to leverage this against the NRA, Mr. Huckabee was right in the first part of the clip, gun owners and NRA members are LESS likely to “point a gun at [Obama].” I think this removes any doubt that Huckabee is not the right man for the vice presidency.
